  1. Brian!! It’s very cool to hear from you man!! Wow, I didn’t see your comment until today. I’d love to talk more to you about this at some point. I feel really honoured that you’ve added your voice here brother. Thank you for saying hello!!! Corin

  2. Hi Corin:

Greetings from Orillia, Ontario. We LOVE the idea that you are financing your next album using Canadian Tire bucks. Very creative… and Canadian! We just dug around our kitchen drawer and found some green (and red, purple and brown) for you. We’ll mail it later today.

An idea: How about providing a list or map on your site, showing all the places from which people have sent you their Canadian Tire money? It would be fun to see how widespread your following is!

    Cheers,
    Margaret

  3. Hi Corin, Glad to hear the CD is coming out. Saw you last spring at the Sunnybrae Hall and your bookworm show at the Art Gallery. I just ordered my copy of Paper Nickels but have a little problem, it seems that PayPal has an old address for me. The correct mailing address should be: Lody Kieken, Box 391, Tappen, B.C., V0E 2X1. I hope you can track my order and get the CD/book (sounds like a great project) to me when it is released.

  4. Hi Corin,
Hooray!! We will be able to pick up our very own coffee table CD at the Ironwood show in February. So looking forward to it!

    Hooray again!

  5. Hi Corin!
It’s the Bellwoods Bar & Grill Waitress here.
This is such an amazing way of funding your album. I have convinced my mother to part with her precious Canadian Tire Cents.
Have an amazing tour and when you return to lil’ old Toronto I will be sure to finally catch you at the Cameron.

  6. CORIN!!! Dude, I want your CD. I only have 2. We (my boss and I) play your music in the store all the time and people ask about it and want to buy it. We give info. of course. But….. I want your latest. No rush, but… can I order it via e-mail?
Norah and I were at one of your venues just over a year ago, and now you’re new CD is out! Woo-hooo!
Saw you in the STAR. You’re nearly famous, my man.
    Tracey.

  8. Hey Corin, its Kelly from last nights house concert in Salmon Arm. Hows the red scarf? I’ve just spent the last hour in the Canadian Tire offices, it was hilarious! I can do some purchases and returns with my CT points from my “Options” Card, and they will do some manual accounting changes and make it work. It went from “the system won’t allow us” to “yeah…we’ll find a way to do it” after i explained your story. Love those small towns!
So…it will take them some days to accumulate the cold hard CT cash, I should have 355$ by this Tuesday, and am leaving that night for Ontario. If you get this , let me know where you’ll be Feb 20-22, or I can drop it off at the Cameron.
Oh..and I’ll send a pic of the CT staff when I pick up the cash..too funny.

    Cheers

    Kelly

  9. Corin, I heard your Cad-Tire$ song on Alan Cross this morning and loved it enough to check you out online… kudos to you sir, for the good music and a great idea to help yourself (while helping your fellow Canadians!)
I have to say though, as I read the Strombo link, I was a bit disappointed… while I do support your initial venture, I guess I feel that any CadTire$’s ‘left over’ from your recording invoice should be donated to a reputable charity (of which several do accept CadTire$)… surely you have received enough publicity and notoriety at this point to be able to afford any subsequent album recordings without the aid of donations! :)

  10. Amazing thing you’ve done here, Corin! As a Canadian Tire employee, I’ve seen a few CT$ bankrolls, but none as large as yours or used for anything other than free merchandise. Nice to see it being used in a much more creative way! Congratulations on your new album!
